PediQUEST Redesign

A UCI HCI capstone redesigning PediQUEST from a clinical survey tool into an emotionally supportive symptom-reporting system.

Mothers recovering from opioid use disorder (OUD) often face an impossible balance in the NICU: remaining fully alert while holding and bonding with their medically fragile infant, despite exhaustion and medications that can cause drowsiness.

Accidental decannulation and tube blockages are among the leading causes of tracheostomy-related emergencies, especially in children who cannot communicate distress.

BCI Emotion Capture

Brain-computer interfaces already turn attempted speech into text. This turns those same words into images, so a person who cannot speak can show what they feel rather than only spell it.
