Neonatal Epinephrine Delivery Study

A Novel Method for Administering Epinephrine During Neonatal Resuscitation

The finding: across 84 simulated neonatal resuscitations, prefilled syringes cut median preparation time from 48.0 seconds to 17.0 and administration from 57.6 to 26.9 (p < 0.001). Every nurse in the study supported adopting them.

At the Center for Advanced Pediatric and Perinatal Education (CAPE), physicians conducted a study to evaluate a novel neonatal epinephrine packaging design aimed at eliminating dose preparation time. I had the privilege of contributing to this project by co-developing the innovative packaging alongside Dr. William Rhine and Dr. Janene Fuerch.
